2001 Suzuki GSX-R 600 Test – Part II

We drove the Suzuki GSX-R 600 sportbike as fast as what probably 95% of potential owners push the bik, but did not pretend to be motorcycle racers.

Flopping from major lean angle against the angle is simpler than on anything else, I prey. You want to change your line mid corner, a little pressure on the ankle or pressure on the bars and it is done without fuss. It has a steering damper as standard, but fortunately it does not bar too much effort. It feels like a race bike in the way you can literally caught out by Scruff and slamming one side to another without having to wait for the suspension to get over it. This serves to raise the level of confidence further.

The Suzuki GSX-R 600 sportbike never put a foot (wheel) that during our time with him. Think “strengthen a line ‘and it is fact, if you get into trouble you can use before and / or rear brakes to slow the bike while in a tower. I do not myself overcome in a corner, but always cause this kind of event in relatively safe environment to simulate a “Oh shit I came too hot” type of reaction for novices. This type of situation will be very probably very relevant to a large number of potential purchasers of the child GSX-R, for many of them something like 600 it will probably be their first big bike. And say that this “small” 600 would be completely chew and spitting on most major sportsbikes focused on the market when it comes to laptimes .

The engine pulls well throughout the rev range. There is no large-calibre, but engine performance is among the best in the SuperSport category.

But keep in mind this is only a 600, it should be kept revving to get good withdraw turns etc. That is half the pleasure of a 600 and if you are too low to enjoy whizzing up and down the gearbox, Buying something bigger.

In the East Creek I entered the main right about 50 meters behind a R1 and the end of the right side was still only about 50 meters behind the more powerful bike. The Suzuki GSX-R 600 sportbike has obviously an excellent aerodynamics.

The characteristics of Suzuki GSX-R 600 sportbike were the same as their dashboard 750. Well-designed and comprehensive with a conventional tachometer beside a unit containing a digital LCD speedo, two tripmeters and odometer. Apparatus is typically Japanese, efficient and simple to use.
